Our Angel
Selena was born July 2, 2002 in Moberly, Missouri. Her parents were Jenny Hicks and John Springer. Timmie Chapman, Jr, Toby Chapman, Dallas Springer, and Leslie Springer are her brothers and sister. She was born into a big and loving family. We called her "Sissy", "Monkey", or quite usually it was also "Selena Maree" (of course when she was in trouble). She had many loved ones that took care of her while mommy and daddy worked. The main people in her life is Nana, Papa, Bryan and Kyler, "Potatoe Papa", grandma Kathy, aunt Joey and her kids, among many others. On October 25, 2004 a tragic house fire took the life of this beautiful little girl. Why, you may ask. Well we dont really know. Timmie, Toby and Jenny survived the fire though. There is not a day that goes by that we do not relive that tragic day in our minds or nightmares. Selena has done two different things...made us weak, yet at the same time made us all alot stronger. She is a very strong child, who is now paying us back for watching over her. She is one of the many angels who watches over us every second of every minute. She is what makes us go on in our lives daily. I believe that she is the one that saved me from dying in that fire. I believe that she may have given her life in some sort of way, so that I could live and take care of Timmie and Toby. I wish it didnt have to be this way. If I have learned anything from all of this, it is that dont take anything for granted. Hug and kiss your loved ones everyday, tell them that you love them every chance you get. There are no second chances in life. You never know what you got till its gone....
